What Plano venues tend to be like
Everything from restored farmsteads near Haggard Park to corporate hotel ballrooms, and no two of them handle sparklers the same way. This is the town where we most often tell couples to get the policy in writing before they order anything.
No clear pattern, which is the pattern. Order once you have the venue's answer, not before.
Check the Collin County burn ban before an outdoor send-off
Plano sits in Collin County. In Texas the county commissioners court issues burn bans under Local Government Code §352.081, not the city and not your venue. During a dry spell most of the state sits under one.
Whether a ban covers hand-held sparklers comes down to the wording of that county's order, and the orders differ. We will not tell you your send-off is fine when the answer varies by jurisdiction. Two minutes of checking settles it.
- Look up Collin County on the Texas A&M Forest Service burn ban map.
- If there is an active ban, read the order or call the county. Ask about hand-held sparklers specifically, not "fireworks".
- Tell your venue what you found. A coordinator who has not checked will thank you.

Violating a county burn ban is a Class C misdemeanour. This is general information about how the orders work, not legal advice about your event.
Ask your venue two questions
Before you pick a length, ask your Plano coordinator whether sparklers are permitted and whether there is a maximum. Those two answers decide the order. Venues vary widely: some allow 36 inch without comment, some cap at 20, some say no.
Tell us which venue you are using and we will tell you what we have seen there. If we do not know, we will say so instead of guessing.

Questions from Plano
Questions
How long does it take to get sparklers from Plano?
We are about 45 minutes from Plano, west via US-380 or I-30 from the shop at 5159 I-30, Caddo Mills. Most orders are ready the same day or within 24 hours, so collecting is one round trip.
Do you deliver to Plano?
Yes. Free delivery in the Dallas area on orders of $100 or more. Fort Worth delivery is $25. Delivery orders start at $100, and pickup is free from $50. About forty-five minutes, depending which way the traffic is moving. Plano is where delivery starts to beat driving out twice.
Will my Plano venue allow sparklers?
Ask your coordinator before you order, and ask two things. Whether sparklers are permitted at all, and whether there is a maximum length. A venue that caps at 20 inches has chosen your product for you. If the answer is no outdoors as well as in, better to find that out now than on the day.
How many will I need?
Roughly one per guest who lines up, plus about ten per cent for the ones that will not catch. The calculator does the arithmetic.
